    Why Does Outlook For Mac

Shortly after you start Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011 on Mac OS X El Capitan (version 10.11), Outlook hangs when it tries to sync with the server. The Spinning Wait cursor is displayed, and the application status is displayed as 'Not Responding.'

I'm running Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2016 Version 15.19.1 (160212). This is the latest version.

My email account is an outlook.com account and is configured with all of the default settings. If I delete an email with Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2016, it does not go to either my outlook.com deleted messages folder or my Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2016 deleted items folder - even though I've configured my email account in Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2016 to do so. Instead, it deletes the email pernanently - in Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2016 as well as in outlook.com. Neither outlook.com nor Apple's mail app does this so the issue is definitely with Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2016. This seems like a bug to me which should be reported to Microsoft. Any suggestions.

Why is this 'by design'? Why would outlook.com take away from it's native capabilities? My outlook.com is set up for incoming mail as IMAP. For outgoing mail, it uses SMTP. This is the way the server configures my account if I allow the server to configure my settings when I add it (which I did). My outlook.com in iMail is configured exactly the same was as it is in outlook for mac - imap for incoming mail - smtp for outgoing. So this can't be a case of imap or smtp not supporting saving messages in the deleted folder.

I do not have this problem with Outlook desktop with Outlook.com. Just to be sure, go to your Outlook desktop app Outlook menu and choose About Outlook. I am using version 15.20, but you may have 15.19.1. If you have some other version, your edition of Outlook is out of date and needs updating.

Outlook 2016 for Mac either doesn't sync or stops syncing the Inbox. Strangely, my Online Archive DOES sync, and folders under the Inbox also sync. If I set this account up on the same Mac in a VM using Office 2016 for Windows, it works just fine. The GoToMeeting Scheduler allows you to schedule your meetings from your Microsoft Outlook application on your Mac. Are you on Windows or looking to.

In Outlook preferences Account click the Advanced button. On the Folders tab check the settings for Trash. I am an unpaid volunteer and do not work for Microsoft. 'Independent Advisors' work for contractors hired by Microsoft. 'Microsoft Agents' work for Microsoft Support.

In the past, I would select a picture or pictures in iPhoto. Then I would use the Share menu in iPhoto.

This also allowed me to adjust the size of a picture. With iPhoto, when I made Apple Mail my default email app, it would appear in the Share menu.

Why Is Outlook For Mac So Slow

With iPhoto, when I made Outlook my default app, it would also appear in the Share menu. With the new 'Photos' app, I can only get Apple Mail to appear in the Share menu. I prefer using Outlook. I can drag a picture from the new 'Photos' to the desktop, and then drag it to an Outlook email, but then I lose the ability to reduce the size of the picture if needed.

It was a very simple process with iPhoto. Corvairkid wrote: Some additional info. While looking back through past messages to Apple Support Communities, I found the same problem in 2012 with iPhoto version 9.4.1. It wouldn't recognize Outlook. When version 9.4.2 was released, the problem was solved.

Attention Apple! It's time to update Photos 1.0 please!! As that was prior to the system-level sharing plugins, I wouldn't expect an update to Photos would add the functionality. I believe Apple expect app developers to provide the plug-ins.

As Microsoft is the only company that knows how it's email client should handle an image 'shared' to it, they would have to write the sharing plug-in. Outlook for Mac 2011 ver.14.4.8 not compatible with Apple Photos ver.1.0. Apple has upgraded iPhoto and renamed it Photos.

Where does outlook for mac store emails

When I try to send an email with a picture attachment, Outlook no longer shows up in the Apple Photos drop down Share menu. Only Apple Mail will work with the new Photos app. This problem happened before in October 2012 when Apple released iPhoto 9.4.1. Outlook would not work with it.

    Minimized

When iPhoto 9.4.2 was released in November 2012 the problem was fixed. I prefer using Outlook, but it looks like I'm stuck with Apple Mail until a fix is released.
